Terms of Use

Last updated: September 1, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Milkloft iOS application, published by Open Cloud LLC. By using the app you agree to them. The app is intended for adults.

What Milkloft is — and isn't

Milkloft is an organizational tool for tracking expressed breast milk. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Storage times shown in the app are estimates based on published third-party guidelines (CDC by default; others selectable) that you can view and adjust; they may not fit your situation. Always follow the guidance of your pediatrician or lactation consultant, and use your own judgment about milk safety. Every decision about storing, preparing, feeding, or discarding milk is yours.

The app records what you tell it

Milkloft has no sensors and no way to observe your milk, your fridge, or your freezer. Everything it shows — statuses, estimated dates, warnings, projections — is computed from the information you enter: when milk was expressed, where you say it is, when you say it was moved, thawed, offered, or left out. Keeping that record accurate and up to date is your responsibility; the app cannot detect what you don't log, including power outages, thawing, or spoilage.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Their delivery depends on your permission, your device settings, and system limits, and is not guaranteed. Notifications are a convenience, not a safety mechanism — do not rely on them as your only check on stored milk.

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, per the App Store's standard terms.

Purchases and updates

Milkloft Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed by Apple, with Family Sharing enabled. Prices are shown in the App Store. Refunds follow Apple's standard refund policy. "Free updates" means the app updates we publish are included in your purchase; it is not a commitment to any specific future feature or to offer the app indefinitely.

Your data

Your data stays on your device and your iCloud (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for keeping backups; the app provides automatic weekly snapshots and manual export tools. Sync and iCloud backup depend on Apple's services and your account settings.

No affiliation

Milkloft cites publicly available guidance from sources such as the CDC, the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, the NHS, the AAP, and NICE. Milkloft is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by any of them, or by Apple. Apple, the App Store, and iCloud are trademarks of Apple Inc.

Disclaimer of warranties and liability

The app is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Open Cloud LLC disclaims all warranties and is not liable for losses arising from reliance on estimated dates, projections, notifications, or any other app output — including spoiled or discarded milk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Questions: support@milkloft.com.
